Musical artist, Aluna, recently made her debut as a solo artist with her album “Renaissance” back in September and her song “Envious” has been rising to the top of the charts.
Aluna opens her song with a soft, echoed melody and the lyrics of her chorus. She then picks the beat up and begins the first verse with a retro, funk beat that immediately makes you want to get up and dance. The song softens after verses to allow for a build up into the extremely catchy chorus, “Don't make me envious / You know I'm cruel when I see red / And I'm losing my head”.
Within the song, Aluna describes her feelings of envy within her relationship. With lyrics like, “And I don't want your games now / I just want your love” and “Yeah, you already know how to get to me / Get to me, ah, ah / Told you what will make me crazy, crazy”, Aluna sings about the frustrations she feels from her partner and the jealousy that brings out in her.
