BROCKPORT, N.Y.--- The Golden Eagles were looking to get the bats rolling again after a series where they didn't put up a lot of runs. Nick Pastore was the spark the Golden Eagles needed as his big day helped lead the team to a 13-7 win over the Russell Sage Gators.
Outfielder Zach Eldred got the ball rolling for the Golden Eagles in the top of the first inning after hitting his third homerun of the season to put Brockport up 1-0.
In the top of the second inning, outfielder Ryan Mansell drove in third basemen Johnny Genau with a sacrifice fly to make it 2-0 Brockport.

In the top of the fourth inning, outfielder Nick Pastore hit a sacrifice fly and drove in Genau. Later in the inning, first basemen Patrick Bigham walked with the bases loaded, which allowed catcher Ryan Voight to score. The next batter, second basemen James Houlahan singled and brought in Justin Pangburn and Eldred. This made it a 6-0 game.

In the top of the fifth inning, shortstop Justin Pangburn hit an RBI single, driving in Voight from second. Two innings later, Pastore hit a two-run single up the middle, which brought home designated hitter Chris Martin and catcher Jason Mansell. This gave Brockport a 9-0 lead.
The next batter, Zach Eldred recorded his second hit and second RBI of the day, doubling to drive in second basemen Nick Mahar. Brockport was now up 10-0.
Brockport pitching was able to keep the Gators scoreless through six innings. In the bottom of the seventh inning, Gators outfielder Jacob Coonan doubled and drove in Christian Brown. This gave Russell Sage their first run of the game.
Later that same inning, outfielder Jared Russel singled up the middle and brought home Coonan. This made it 10-2 Brockport.

In the top of the ninth inning, Nick Pastore hit a three-run homerun to give Brockport a 13-2 lead. This was Pastore's third hit and sixth RBI on the day.
In the bottom of the ninth inning, the Gators added five runs, four of which came from a Grand Slam homerun off the bat of outfielder Brendan Espinal. The final score of the game was 13-7 in favor of Brockport.
With the win, Brockport improves to 16-9 on the season. The Golden Eagles are back in action this weekend when they travel to SUNY Fredonia to take on the Blue Devils for some SUNYAC conference action.
