ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Rochester Red Wings suffered another frustrating loss to the Lehigh Valley IronPigs by a score of 10-1. Two errors made by the Red Wings defense again plague the team, as it's the fourth straight game they have had made at least two errors. This is the fourth straight game the Red Wings have scored at most two runs. Lehigh Valley also went to work on offense, outhitting Rochester 14-to-five, continuing a trend Red Wings manager Matt LeCroy addressed again this week.
"I think the biggest thing is getting a better position hit, not being tardy," LeCroy said.
Andry Lara made his first start today at Innovative Field, entering with a 4.50 ERA. In 3.2 innings pitched, he had two strikeouts and gave up 11 hits, one of those hits being a dinger, nine earned runs and one walk.
"He threw in some changeups; it's a pitch he's going to continue to develop to be a starter," LeCroy said.

Lehigh Valley struck first in the first inning. Third baseman Buddy Kennedy singled to drive in second baseman Otto Kemp. Kemp scored thanks to a throwing error on Red Wings second baseman Trey Lipscomb, who tried to get Kennedy out at first base. Catcher Garrett Stubbs proceeded to record a single to allow Kennedy to score.
In the beginning of the third inning Kemp hit a dinger to change the score to 3-0. Right after the home run with the bases loaded, the IronPigs kept the momentum with a sac-fly from catcher Cal Stevenson to allow Kenndey to score. This was followed by a double from first basemen Christian Arroyo, which drove in Stubbs and right fielder Oscar Mercado, giving the IronPigs a 6-0 lead. Both Stubbs and Mercado singled to get on base.
The IronPigs stayed hot on offense in the fourth inning. Stubbs hit a two-run double that drove designated hitter Gabriel Rincones Jr. and Kenndey. Rincones walked to get to first while Kenndey hit a single. Right after the two runs, Mercado hit a single which allowed Stubbs to score, giving Lehigh Valley a 9-0 lead.
After a quiet two innings, Lehigh Valley scored again with a home run out into left field from Arroyo, making the score 10-0 in favor of the IronPigs. The Red Wings responded with scoring their first run after Lipscomb grounded out allowing first baseman Juan Yepez to score, this play made the score 10-1.

The IronPigs secured the win over the Red Wings thanks to pitcher Devin Sweet. He pitched in the ninth inning and struckout two batters in route to the win.
With the loss today the Red Wings fall to 2-5 with this being four losses in a row. As for the IronPigs, the win improved their record to 6-2.
The Red Wings will host Lehigh Valley again tomorrow at 1:05 p.m. The Red Wings will have Shinnosuke Ogasawara (1-0, 1.50) starting on the mound, while Nabil Crismatt (0-1, 11.25) will start for the IronPigs.
