Sarah And The Safe Word will be performing at Rochester's Photo City Music Hall on April 2 with Shayfer James. 89.1 The Point will be covering the performance and will also premiere a special interview with the group April 3 at 7:30pm (EST).
As college students and young adults continue to embrace punk music, Atlanta's Sarah And The Safe Word has been bringing an entirely new meaning and depth to the genre since 2015. With songs such as Ruby Off The Rails and Old Lace, the group holds a steady following of over 100,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, with new music continuously being released.
The group's latest project, The Book of Broken Glass, demonstrates a complexity to their original style of cabaret rock, adding strings and horns to rock to create an unusual yet satisfying masterpiece to fans of modern punk. The LP follows a story according to the band, centralizing a theme of secret-keeping and the complexities behind holding it. The 13-track album maintains variety with a mix of punk, somberness, and even a ballad to conclude. It is set to be released on April 7 of this year.
Sarah And The Safe Word is set to tour with James March 31-April 30, with shows across the U.S. and some in Canada. 89.1 The Point's Kurt Thelen and Axel Pearse will cover the group's Rochester appearance.
