The Greece Athena Trojans faced off against the Spencerport Rangers in the Section V Class A Semi-Finals on Wednesday night. The Trojans offense got going in the fourth inning and they never looked back, defeating the Rangers 10-1.
In the bottom of the third inning, right fielder Nate Hall hit an RBI single to right field to give the Trojans a 1-0 lead.

In the bottom of the third inning, Spencerport third basemen Frank Grad hit an RBI single to tie the game at one apiece. This is the only run the Rangers would score in the game.

Trojans starting pitcher Derrick Allen went six innings, allowing one earned run, six hits and striking out nine batters.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, first basemen Caleb Mitchell hit an RBI single to give the Trojans a 2-1 lead. Later in the inning, second basemen Sammy Saucke hit a two-run single to make it a 4-1 game.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Derrick Allen scored on a wild pitch to make it a 5-1 game. Later in the inning, Nate Hall drove in a run on a sacrifice fly to extend the lead to 6-1.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, Caleb Mitchell hit at two-run double to left field to make it an 8-1 game. Two batters later, Sammy Saucke hit an RBI double to make it 9-1. Later in the inning, catcher Riley Catena drove in a run on groundout making it 10-1. This would be the final score of the game.

With the win, The Greece Athena Trojans advance to their fifth consecutive Sectional Final where they will take on the Churchville-Chili Saints for the Section V Class A Championship on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 at Innovative Field.
