BROCKPORT, NY - The Brockport Golden Eagles defeated the Potsdam Bears by a score of 3-0 Friday night. The game began in a stalemate, with the first period ending 0-0. Brockport finally broke the deadlock at the 2:21 mark of the second as Mitchell Parsons connected on a 5 on 3 power play. Poor discipline continued to plague Potsdam as Brockport soon went back onto the power play, resulting in a top left corner snipe from Jacob King to make it 2-0. A sloppy defensive marking later in the period led to the third Golden Eagle goal, as Andrew Harley fed Connor Galloway on a 2 on 1 rush, resulting in Galloway depositing his backhander past Bears goalie Michael Paglucca. Ryan Romeo also had two assists in the period. Brockport would lock it down in the third, claiming the three goal victory.
Brockport goaltender Nolan Egbert was the star of the show, putting together a 27 save shutout. This is Egbert's second clean sheet in just his first three games as a Golden Eagle. With the victory, Brockport has started 4-0 on the season for the first time in 41 years. They will look for an extraordinary 5-0 start tomorrow night as they face the Plattsburgh Cardinals at home.
