Concert Review: Ariana Grande

It has been a dream of mine to see Ariana Grande in concert since I became a fan in early 2018 with the release of “no tears left to cry” which was a song that got me hooked on her music and made me want to keep up with her and what she was doing and the music she was releasing, I did not expect when I joined her fanbase that she would evolve into the artist she is today and have the year that she has had. I was anticipating her tour dates as she was going to be touring two new albums at once, the critically acclaimed “sweetener” and the iconic “thank u, next.” When the first round of dates came out for the first leg of Grande’s tour – there was a show very local in Buffalo, but the date was a conflict. I lost in hope that I may not get to see her this time around, until June when she released a third leg of her show. The closest being the opening show in Uniondale, NY, a 6 hour drive. I was excited to go to this show rather than an earlier one because I knew she would change up the show in ways that my local friends here wouldn’t have had seen.

This is exactly what Ariana did. Starting with the iconic acapella “raindrops (an angel cried),” I knew I was in for a good show. She performed about 30 songs, combining the perfect amount of songs from her new material and mixing it with some of her older work. To get fans excited for the holidays, she treated her fans to a wonderful Christmas medley containing songs from her Christmas EP titled “Christmas and Chill” – and ending the medley with her Christmas classic “Santa Tell Me,” a song that had amazing visuals such as confetti shooting out into the audience to give the illusion of snow and was easily her best song of the night, and Ariana came out in a cute Christmas costume with reindeer ears, it was the perfect melody to bring out the joy in people and listen and dance along to the music. I was so excited for her to do “breathin” and “everytime”… and “Dangerous Woman” … okay I was excited for the whole show

Ariana did not just deliver her dancing, insanely high vocals that people will be thinking and smiling about for weeks after … and believe me, she did not hold back from making everyone mesmerized by that gorgeous voice. Before the show, Ariana’s team was going the venue upgrading people’s seats from the nosebleeds to right in the Pit. She genuinely wanted everyone to have a good time while they were at her concert and wanted to make the message very clear that she loves her fans.

Will I drive 6 hours to see Ariana again? ...Cannot guarantee it. But I am very excited for her future music and tours and to follow her on her artistic journey.
