The Buffalo Sabres were able to defeat the Columbus Blue Jackets in a preseason match up 4-3 in overtime. Goals for Buffalo came from Tage Thompson, Sam Reinhart, Victor Olofsson and Marcus Johansson scored the game winner in overtime. Goaltender Carter Hutton stopped 22 of 25 shots for the victory.
