MORRISVILLE, NY--- The Brockport Golden Eagles came into the game looking to continue their dominance over Empire 8 opponents. After getting off to a fast start, The Golden Eagles pitched their second straight shoutout with a 49-0 win over the Morrisville Mustangs.
After a 24-yard drive that resulted in a punt for Morrisville, The Golden Eagles got the ball at their own 15 yard line and methodically drove down the field. With 2:45 left to go in the first quarter, Brockport quarterback Ben Gocella connected with tight end Miles Goddard on an 11-yard touchdown pass that capped of a 15-play 75-yard drive to give the Golden Eagles the 7-0 lead.

The Golden Eagles got the ball back to start the second quarter after a three-and-out by Morrisville. At the 11:59 mark in the second quarter, Gocella tossed his second touchdown pass of the game, connecting with tight end James Altenberger for the 14-yard score. This made it a 14-0 game.
"The older guys on the team make it easier for me to adjust and continue to grow and I am so grateful for that," Ben Gocella said.
With 7:25 left in the second quarter, Gocella found wide receiver Rashad Law on a 10-yard touchdown pass for his third touchdown pass of the game, that capped off a 7-play 45-yard drive and made it 21-0 Brockport.

At the end of the second quarter, Brockport running back Isaiah Simmons scampered into the endzone on a 2-yard touchdown run to end off a 4-play 44-yard drive to extend the lead to 28-0 heading into the second half.

At the 8:32 mark in the third quarter, quarter back Chris McGuire punched it into the endzone on an 8-yard quarter back keeper, to make it a 35-0 game. Five minutes later, McGuire scored his second touchdown of the game on a 2-yard touchdown run to give Brockport a 42-0 lead.
In the fourth quarter, at the 9:29 mark, Brockport running back Cameron Mesh found his way into the endzone on a 7-yard run to give Brockport it's sixth touchdown of the game and the 49-0 lead. This was the final score of the game.
"It's amazing to watch because we just excel off of each other," Brockport running back Jala Coad said. "We just feed off of each other and being a four-headed monster we just come out and do it as one," Coad said.
The Brockport defense held the Mustangs to just 45 yards of total offense. This is the second straight game that the defense has allowed zero points. The Golden Eagles had 410 yards of total offense.
The Golden Eagles improve to 6-1 overall and 4-0 in the conference and extend their winning streak to five games with the win. They will host Utica University on Saturday Oct. 28th at 2pm.
