BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Nine different Golden Eagles scored as Brockport downed the Keuka College Wolves 15-1 in a regular season-ending victory. Brockport closed with three straight wins, finishing 7-2 in conference play.

In the third quarter, senior attacker Alayna Foos, who rested much of the game, skipped a shot into the bottom corner of the net for the 12-1 Brockport lead. The goal was Foos’ 171st of her career, which tied Angela Inzinna (2003-06) for third all-time in Brockport women’s lacrosse history. Foos passed former teammate Cassidy Burnash (160, 2020-24) earlier this season.

Today, attackers junior Amanda Evans and sophomore Hailey Lewkovich led the way with three goals apiece. Evans finished with a team-high six points, three goals and three assists.

“We stuck to our systems that we knew going in, we stuck to our game plan,” Lewkovich said. “We listened to coaches, we listened to each other, we gave each other confidence.”

The Golden Eagles entered the afternoon with their playoff positioning already set as they’re the No. 3 seed in the Empire 8 postseason. That earned them a home playoff game; the No. 6 Utica Pioneers will be in town Tuesday, April 29 at 4:00 p.m.

“This is our third season in a row hosting a playoff game, so it just feels really good,” Brockport head coach Bryana Glasser said. “All the time, effort, energy that the kids put into this…the ladies have really bought in and have done a very good job at staying the course, believing in what it is that we’re doing and sticking to the process.”

Despite nothing standing-wise to gain from a win, Brockport established a seven-goal advantage in the first quarter.

Lewkovich finished her hat-trick through only seven minutes of play. She dodged in from goal line extended for her first goal, before scoring from in front off assists from first year attacker Karaline McCarthy and Evans, respectively.

Karaline McCarthy recorded three assists on the afternoon. Also in the first, she helped a cutting senior midfielder Sarah Kilburn bury the 3-0 goal. Then, from the top of the key, she assisted Evans’ goal.

Evans ended quarter one with three points, a goal and two assists. She found Kilburn for the 6-0 lead. With a tenth of a second left in the first quarter, sophomore attacker Tristan Davis ripped a powerful shot to the top-right corner and extended Brockport’s lead. Lewkovich registered the assist.

“It’s something we’ve worked on all season long, just let the ball do the work, and they did that today,” Glasser said. “I’m really, really proud of them.”

With a comfortable lead, Glasser turned to Brockport’s usual reserve players for the bulk of the game. First year attacker Emily Schiffer recorded her first collegiate points, including a second-quarter goal for Brockport’s 9-0 lead.

“It’s huge,” Glasser said. “I’m really proud of her, just coming in and listening and making sure that she’s getting better. That’s why she’s been able to come in and make a pretty immediate impact.”

Further, sophomores Maura Langdon, Olivia Magin and first year Payton Tyszka all saw extended time at attacker. Magin used a dodge from goal line extended to score her second career goal and put Brockport ahead 15-1.

Defensively, sophomores Mikayla Hisey, Kate Singer and first year Brookelyn Vicaretti got run in the game. Singer recorded four ground balls, Hisey grabbed two and Vicaretti added one.

In net, starter sophomore Arianna Reed played the first half, facing two shots and allowing a single goal. For the final 30, freshman Makenna Cady was between the pipes and saved both shots she faced.

“It gets me really hyped up because usually they’re ones supporting us, not even getting in, just standing there cheering for us the whole game,” Evans said. “When they can go out and show what they can do, it gets us really hyped up. Even though they’re off the bench, they’re still really good.”

Down the stretch, senior midfielder Paige Thowe scored twice, plus Foos’ goal. Evans ended with goals in the first, second and fourth quarters.

Brockport looks ahead to the date with Utica on Tuesday. The winner will advance to face the No. 2 Geneseo Knights, who received a bye in the first round of the Empire 8 tournament.
