Brockport Hockey ends season with blowout loss to SUNY Geneseo.

Brockport, N.Y.--- The SUNY Brockport Men's Ice Hockey team traveled to SUNY Geneseo to take on the Knights on Friday night to close out their season. The Golden Eagles entered the game out of playoff contention.


The Geneseo Knights struck first when sophomore forward Stephen Miklakos scored a goal on the power play at the 7:48 mark in the first period to put the Knights up 1-0.


Brockport forward Andrew Harley would tie the game 1-1, after netting a power play goal with just 27 seconds left to play in the first period.

The first period of play would end 1-1. The Knights got off to a fast start in the second period and never looked back. Senior forward Tyson Gilmour put the Knights back on top, netting a goal just 2:18 into the second period. Forward Stephen Miklakos added his second goal of the game, from his knees, five minutes later at the 12:16 mark in the second period to make the score 3-1 Geneseo.


With 8:41 left in the second period, junior defenseman Nathan Poolman scored a goal to extend the Knights lead to 4-1. Forward Tyson Gilmour would add his second goal of the game 3:14 later, to make the score 5-1. This is how the second period would end.

With 9:07 left in the 3rd and final period, Brockport defensemen Ryan Brow scored the first goal of his career on a power play to make it a 5-2 game. Sophomore Forward Peter Morgan sealed the game for the Knights after scoring a goal with 4:33 left in the 3rd period to make it 6-2. This would be the final score of the game.


The Golden Eagles finished the season with a 10-15 overall record and 5-11 record in the conference. The Knights will play in the SUNYAC Quarterfinals on Wednesday at 7:00pm.
