BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- The Empire 8 recently announced its 2024 Men's Soccer All-Conference Teams and Sportsman of the Year selections. Five Brockport Golden Eagles earned recognition across the first, second and third teams.

Senior forward Russ Domm earned Empire 8 First Team honors two years in a row. As Brockport's top scorer for two straight seasons, Domm netted five goals and provided one assist in 13 games this year. His career at Brockport includes 16 goals in 40 appearances.

Junior forward Max Voyer was also named in the Empire 8 First Team. He tied Domm for the team lead in goals with five while adding an assist to his name as well. Voyer started all 17 games this season.

Junior defender Alex Rivara was named to the Empire 8 Second Team for his consistent defensive performances throughout the season. Rivara started 16 games and scored his first collegiate goal against Elmira College on Oct. 19, which was Brockport's Senior Day.

“This season had a lot of ups and downs and inconsistencies, and I feel like were pretty unlucky throughout the season,” Rivara said. “With a young team we had a great group. Seniors had a great team, fun atmosphere overall, but I think we learned a lot throughout the season, and our level of play never really dropped down.”

Freshman defender Khadim Amar earned a spot on the Empire 8 Third Team in his rookie season as a Golden Eagle. He started 17 games and led the team in minutes played with 1,538 minutes under his belt.

Senior defender Giovanni Cardona was chosen for the Empire 8 Third Team in his final season as a Golden Eagle. He started in all 17 games and provided two assists this season.

Graduate student defender DJ Taylor was named Brockport's Empire 8 Sportsman of the Year, recognizing his exemplary sportsmanship both on and off the pitch. Taylor made 44 appearances for the Golden Eagles throughout his career, contributing four goals.

The Golden Eagles will look to get back to playoff action next year after making it all the way to the Empire 8 semifinals this season. In that round, they fell to St. John Fisher in penalty kicks 4-1.
