BROCKPORT, N.Y.--- The Golden Eagles dropped the first game of the doubleheader on Friday against the Cortland Red Dragons 4-0. They would then win the next two games off of timely hitting and by capitalizing on mistakes made by the Red Dragons for their first series win over Cortland since 2017.
Friday, Game One
The Golden Eagles committed five errors and only got one hit in the 4-0 game one loss. In the top of the fifth inning, Cortland infielder Nick Chemotti singled and drove in outfielder Chris Bonacci to take a 1-0 lead.
Later in the inning, outfielder Adam Mieczkowski singled and drove in Chemotti to make it 2-0. In the top of the seventh inning, Mieczkowski got his second hit and second RBI of the game, bringing home infielder Andrew Michalski to extend the Red Dragons lead to 3-0.
In the top of the eighth inning, Nick Chemotti walked with the bases loaded which brought home Dylan Tierney to make it 4-0. This was the final score of the game.
Friday, Game Two
In the top of the first inning, Adam Mieczkowski singled up the middle and drove in Chris Bonacci to give Cortland an early 1-0 lead.

In the bottom of the second inning, infielder Josh Indek singled to left field and drove in catcher Ryan Voight to tie the game 1-1. Later in the inning, outfielder Ryan Mansell scored on a throwing error by Red Dragons pitcher Bradley Battaglini to give Brockport the 2-1 lead.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, third baseman Johnny Genau scored on a fielding error by Cortland second baseman Hunter Holiday, to make it a 3-1 game.

In the top of the eighth inning, Cortland outfielder Mat Bruno hit a solo homerun to centerfield to make it a 3-2 game. This would be the final score of the game.
Saturday,
The Brockport bats exploded for 13 runs in a 13-3 seven inning blowout victory to take the series from Cortland.
In the bottom of the second inning, catcher Ryan Voight and outfielder Ryan Mansell scored on a fielding error by Cortland shortstop Andrew Michalski to give Brockport a 2-0 lead.
In the bottom of the third inning, outfielder Zach Eldred doubled on a fly ball to left field which drove in Nick Pastore. This made it a 3-0 game.

In the bottom of the third inning, catcher Ryan Voight singled to right field, which brought in Eldred, making it a 4-0 game.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Brockport shortstop Justin Pangburn singled to left field and drove in Genau to make it a 5-0 game. Later in the inning, Josh Indek scored on a wild pitch to extend the lead to 6-0.

In the top of the fifth inning, outfielder Chris Bonacci tripled to left field and drove in Dylan Tierney to give Cortland their first run of the game.
In the top of the sixth inning, Mat Bruno scored on a wild pitch. Later in the inning, Michalski would score on a walk to make it a 6-3 game. This is the last run the Red Dragons would score in the game.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, outfielder Zach Eldred hit a two-run single to right field which brought home second baseman James Houlahan and Justin Pangburn to make it 8-3 Brockport.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, Brockport designated hitter Zach Harter hit a solo homerun to extend their lead to 9-3. Later in the inning, James Houlahan singled and drove in Mansell to make it 10-3. Two batters later, Nick Pastore hit a three-run homerun to give Brockport the 13-3 win.

With the win, Brockport improves to 22-10 overall and 12-3 in the conference. The Golden Eagles will be back in action on Wednesday when they host Saint John Fisher at 3:30pm.
