Brockport Baseball's season comes to an end after 8-6 loss to Susquehanna.

BROCKPORT, N.Y.-- The Golden Eagles were able to stay alive in the NCAA Regional Tournament, defeating Arcadia University by a score of 6-2. Brockport was then defeated by the Susquehanna River Hawks 8-6, ending their season.


In the bottom of the first inning, Susquehanna third basemen Tony Rossi hit a two-run triple to right field that brought home outfielders Brock Veit and Sean McCulloch making it a 2-0 game. The next batter, first basemen J.P. Yore drove in Rossi on a sacrifice fly to give the River Hawks the early 3-0 lead.


In the top of the second inning, second basemen James Houlahan singled and drove in designated hitter Ryan Voight to give Brockport their first run of the game. Later in the inning, third basemen Johnny Genau drove in shortstop Justin Pangburn on a sacrifice bunt to make it a 3-2 game.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Susquehanna shortstop Michael Biuso doubled and drove in designated hitter Lance Book to extend the lead to 4-2.


In the top of the fifth inning, Brockport center fielder Nicholas Pastore doubled to right field and brought in James Houlahan to make it a 4-3 game.


In the top of the sixth inning, Ryan Voight hit a two-run single to right field that brought home left fielder Ryan Mansell and first basemen Patrick Bigham to give Brockport the 5-4 lead.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Tony Rossi singled hit a two-run single to left field driving in McCulloch and Biuso to take the lead right back 6-5. Later in the inning, Lance Book hit a two-run single to left field bringing home Rossi and Veit to make it 8-5.


In the top of the ninth inning, Brian Tietjen hit a solo homerun to make it an 8-6 game. This is how the game would end.

The Golden Eagles finished the season with an overall record of 29-18, and as 2023 SUNYAC Champions.
