BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Buffalo Bisons defeated the Rochester Red Wings by a final score of 4-3. The Bisons trailed by three and had a sixth-inning rally to propel them to the series victory over Rochester.
"The guys were taking good at-bats," said Bisons Bench coach Cesar Martin when being asked what clicked for the lineup in that sixth inning. "We had a really good inning."

Rochester's starter, Kyle Luckham, had a strong outing, posting a line of five innings, six hits, zero runs, two walks and three strikeouts.
Buffalo's Starter, Trenton Wallace, posted a line of four innings, three hits, two runs, two earned runs, three walks, and seven strikeouts.
"The first inning was good," said Martin when talking about Wallace's outing. "He stayed competing and got through."
The Bisons had ducks on the pond early by loading the bases with two outs in the first inning. However, Red Wings starter Kyle Luckham escaped the jam by making Bisons second baseman Orvelis Martinez fly out to end the inning and keep the Bisons scoreless.
In the second inning, Bisons first baseman Damiano Palmegiani was gunned down at home trying to score from first on a Josh Rivera double. Once again, the Bisons stranded another runner in scoring position.
Rochester scored first in the third inning thanks to a sac-fly by third baseman Brady House. The scoring would continue for Rochester as left fielder Franchy Cordero roped an RBI double in the left-center field gap, scoring second baseman J.T. Arruda and giving the Red Wings a 2-0 lead.
The Red Wings extended their lead in the fifth inning via a Trey Lipscomb RBI single to score House.
Buffalo started to show some life when the Bisons loaded the bases in the sixth inning. Palmegiani walked, forcing in a run and cutting the deficit to two. Rivera grounded into a double play, but Martinez was able to score, and Buffalo trailed by only one run.
With a runner at third and two outs, right fielder Steward Berroa hit a dribbler to the mound, and Pilkington would throw the ball over to first base. However, the throw was off-line and allowed the run to score and Berroa to reach first base safely. This tied the score 3-3, and the Bisons started to gain some momentum at the plate.

Buffalo would snap the tie as third baseman, Michael Stefanic, pulled a double down the left field line, and Berroa scored.
"Swinging at good pitches and trying to hit the ball hard forward," Stefanic said when asked what has led to his success at the plate to this point in the season. "Been able to do that so far and looking to continue that moving forward."

Buffalo held onto the lead going into the top of the ninth inning, where they looked to get the final three outs of the game. Tommy Nance would be in charge of saving the game for the Bisons. Rochester was able to get the tying run in scoring position at second base, but the Red Wings were unable to score, and the Bisons secured the victory 4-3. Nance notched his first save of the season and helped the team clinch the series win over Rochester.
For the final pitching decisions, Andrew Bash got the win for Buffalo and Pilkington was given the loss for the Red Wings.
"I think defense, we have had a little bit of a rough time this series, myself most notably in that first game," Stefanic said about what the team needs to do well to pick up the win tomorrow. "If we hit, pitch and run the bases well then I think we can get the W tomorrow."
The Bisons and Red Wings are back at it tomorrow as they face off in the series finale at 1:05 p.m. Andrew Alvarez (4.84, 0-2) will start for Rochester and Jake Bloss (7.31, 0-4) will be on the hill for Buffalo.
