A Pair of Power Play Goals Carry Brockport past Fredonia, 4-2

Updated: May 21, 2022

BROCKPORT, NY - The Brockport Golden Eagles defeated the Fredonia Blue Devils by a score of 4-2 Saturday night. Coming off a 6-1 blowout of Buffalo State the night before, Brockport was looking for a third straight victory. After a high paced start, Brockport finally broke the deadlock late in the 1st period with a one-time goal on the power play from captain Ryan Romeo. Down 1-0 at the first intermission, Fredonia game out of the locker room hot, and tied the game with a goal by Ethan Kirbis. They would completely shut down Brockport's offense for the remainder of the period, sending it to the 3rd even at

1-1.

Costly penalties would end up dooming the Blue Devils, as Brockport capitalized on a 5-on-3 advantage to go up 2-1, as Connor Galloway banked home a rebound past Fredonia goaltender Logan Dyck. The Golden Eagles would then go up 3-1 in style, as defensemen Anthony Hora sniped Dyck top shelf from his knees. While Fredonia would claw back to within one with a goal off of Jake Blackwell's shot right off a faceoff, Brockport held on to win 4-2, as Andrew Harley added an empty netter to seal it. As has been business as usual this season, Nolan Egbert was stellar in the Golden Eagle net, stopping 30 of 32 shots. Brockport improves to 8-3 overall on the season with the victory, their third in a row. They will look to make it four straight Tuesday night at home as they take on Elmira.
