Black Panther Album

5/5 STARS

Coming from one of the most famous movies in the box office this year alone, the "Black Panther" album draws many fans in from all around the world. With the first song "Black Panther" by Kendrick Lamar, this disappointed me in a way because of it's pace. It was much slower than I imagined any other song written by him, however, the words within embodied what the black panther was all about which matters most in the end. Both the second song, "Pray for Me" (The Weekend and Kendrick Lamar) and the third, "All the Stars" (Kendrick Lamar feat.SZA) gave chills down my spine throughout. With the mix of two very memorizing voices, it made me feel proud to be listening to such powerful songs.

The following song on the album, "X" by 2 Chainz had a similar rhythm to the first song on the album but obviously personalized by each artist individually. The album begins to slow down a bit come the next song, "Talk to Me" by Tedy. With a similar sound as Same Smith, Tedy combines dub step with his own turn on the lyrics to add strong emotions to the song itself. I felt in the moment, as if I felt what the song was trying to portray and it felt amazing. Following the rest of the album, Kendrick Lamar seems to dictate a majority of it which gives the album a modern vibe.

If I had to pick certain songs that speaks to me, it would have to be those mentioned as well as "The Ways" by Swae Lee, "I Am" by Jorja Smith, and "Redemption" by Babes Wodumo because they're all upbeat and rhythmic with a cultured sound. To hear these songs within the movie would make it 10000X better so I anticipate seeing it. This album would definitely add on to the hype of the movie in the moment and hopefully, it'll continue to do so further on into the year. I see great potential with this entire album and the artists within because so many are recently established and could use that recognition. Listen to this and it'll blow your mind, change your world, and above all, instill happiness!
