Ever since I first heard “Bubbly” on the radio I knew that Colbie Caillat would be a successful musician. “The Malibu Sessions” came out on October 7th, 2016. This is my favorite albums from Caillat because it reminds me of the ocean. The vibe I get from the songs on this album is so soothing because her voice just sounds so smooth. One of my favorite songs on this album is “Gypsy Heart”. The song is just very catchy and makes me really happy when I listen to it. My favorite lines from this song are “It's a sunny day, on the golden coast I'm a dream away, and I'm good to go got a zepplin' groove, on the stereo and the song that is on, is the sound of my soul,”. These lines are really catchy and I think that Colbie Caillat did a fabulous job writing this song. My second favorite song on this album is “Goldmine”. This is another one of those songs that has such a good beat and is just really catchy. Some of my favorite lyrics from this song are “Fly me back to the moon where you took me the very first time that you kissed me in the sweet starlight of your endless eyes when you lit this fire feels like we're sittin' on top of a goldmine”. After listening to this album I became to realize that Colbie Caillat is really a lyrical genius. She has a way with words that makes her music sound that much better. Overall, I really think this was a wonderful album. This was one of the first albums I have heard from Colbie Caillat since hearing “Bubbly”. I wish she was coming somewhere close to NY on her Malibu Sessions tour because I would so go see her. I really think I will be a fan of hers for a while now since this album was released. I have a feeling I will be listening to this album a lot next summer because it just reminds me of the sunshine and summer days spent on the beach or in the pool. I wish I listened to Colbie Caillat’s music sooner than I did because I think she is one of those artists who never gets old and is just so genuine. In my opinion, this is an amazing album and I give this album 9 stars out of 10 stars.
