★★★★☆
For his 8th studio album, Usher shines brighter than ever. No one really knew what to expect from Usher, but he certainly did not disappoint. To start in the first track "Need U" it is more of a conversation then a song, but either why he quickly establishes and highlights what made him famous. His versatility between his great vocals and lyrical ability, he has always been a great artist. Next is a pair of the best songs on the album. "Missin U" makes it possible to have a love song then will be for a party and "No Limit", which features Young Thug, is the classic Usher sex song with the hip hop feel. Usher is at his best when he mixes all of his talents and these two songs show that. "Bump", the 4th track on this album, is more hip hop heavy then R&B which can turn some people off, but it is a fun song with a little bit more of a relaxing sound. "Let Me" offers more of Usher’s R&B feel, but with some of his verse you see the adapting to the popular music that is heard today. The song that offers the most out of Usher’s vocal talents is "Crash" and "Hard II Love". Usher’s vocals are at his finest and just shows how stunning his voice is when he makes music and makes you want to sing along."Hard II Love" is the best song from the standpoint of pure singing and vocal ability, Usher is simply showing off. "Make You A Believer" has a chance to be one of the best songs to come out of this album and it’s because of its faster pace and more hip hop sound. In my opinion the best song on the album was "Rivals" which features Future. It is one of the best songs he has ever done and for sure gets you out of your seat to sing along. The most negative song had to be "Tell Me" it was just too slow and almost boring and disrupts what the rest of the album had. Overall, Usher did a tremendous job and to drop his album at the same time that his movie " Hands of Stone" was coming out in theaters was genius and i hope and expect both to get a lot of love from his fans.
