A big win for the Brockport Golden Eagles in their Empire 8 opener shutting out the St. John Fisher Cardinals in Courage Bowl XV 17-0. This marks the first shutout on Fisher dating back to 2000, as well as the first shutout in general since a 52-0 win over Alfred on October 13th, 2018.
All scoring was done in the first half with Jala Coad and Freddy June running as well as a field goal by Dustin Moyle, but a lot of the game was about the rushing defense. Negative three rushing yards, a lot similar to last year. We spoke with linebacker Lawrence Jenkins post-game
on pressuring the Fisher quarterback.
Brockport is now 4-1 this year (1-0 E8) and host Hartwick next Saturday. Pre-game is at 11:30am with kickoff at noon on 89.1 The Point.
