The Brockport Golden Eagles remain undefeated in Empire 8 play as they took down the Utica Pioneers, 41-14. This win gives the Golden Eagles a 17-home game winning streak, and an 18-game conference winning streak.
Both the offense and defense shined today. Running back Jala Coad scored two touchdowns, his fifth consecutive game with a score, but when cornerback Kenny Hernandez took a 42-yard interception to the house, that's when Brockport blew the game wide open. Hernandez also intercepted another pass today for the final defensive play of the game for the Golden Eagles. We spoke with Hernandez after the game to get his thoughts on today.
Brockport is now 6-1 this year, 3-0 in Empire 8, and next week is a critical Empire 8 matchup, as they face the undefeated #18 AFCA ranked Cortland Red Dragons, where the winner can potentially make the trip to the national tournament next month. Kickoff is set for 2 pm with pre-game at 1:30 on 89.1 The Point.
